 Classic and tradition are timeless; one will probably never get tired of it. Others desired something new and nontraditional. The museum of modern art certainly breaks from tradition and displays unique artwork that would have certainly been controversial in the middle ages. It was a sign of relief when I visited the museum of modern art. After several days of analyzing and observing traditional artwork and architecture, I took it also as a break for myself. With that in mind, I now understand why individuals wanted to evolve into something more “radical.” One can argue that modern art can be classified as radical but in the end it solely depends on the individual. However, that opinion comes from a girl who is living modern times. If we were to go back in the day when the Church and the Aristocracy controlled art, it would make sense that modern art would be considered radical. If society has followed years of tradition and one person suddenly decides to go another direction, of course it would cause controversy. In order to break tradition, people must follow one another. |
