Opulence dominates the Louvre. From paintings to ancient
artifacts, the Louvre is filled with riches and treasures. This large museum
was a treasure-trove institution. Hundreds of paintings, including the famous
Mona Lisa, were hung pompously all over the halls of the Louvre. This visit was
entertaining yet fast-paced. There was too much art and very little time. The
Louvre is a museum one can spend several days discerning it. Although there
were hundreds of masterpieces I needed to observe, I felt happy in the end to
have learned so much in a very limited amount of time.
When I entered the Louvre, one of the first things I saw
right away were the statues of gods and goddesses; the typical artwork many can
analyze with no certain knowledge of Ancient Mythology. I personally believe an
individual does not need to be well-educated in order to understand the form of
ancient art. Classical beauty can be simply analyzed as something extraordinary
beautiful and ancient. It may sound redundant but its connotation says it all. The
display of naked figures lined neatly in the halls of the Louvre reveals the
obsession with Ancient Mythology. I see all ancient sculptures the same: naked
figures with shameless face expressions.
I appreciate the existence of ancient art but modern art has captured my
heart. Ancient Mythology stories are like
biblical stories but more violent and sexual. Although the literature of the
Old Testament is also violent and sexual, the stories relate more to the human
being.
The Louvre was a large museum that was well
designed for people from all over the world to visit. I was amazed by the
amounts of people that were crowding the Mona Lisa. I guess this museum has
become a major impact to the world. I enjoyed walking the halls and observing all
the paintings that were created by genuine artists. Hopefully one day I will go
back and spend several days at this prestigious museum.
